It is said a picture is worth 1000 words and today’s picture says it all.  Having 5 children- it shouldn’t surprise me that one of them is a mini-me.  I guess I never realized what a strong willed child I was for my parents till I look my mini me in the eyes and I know where she gets it from.

So even in our times of frustration and friction of being so similar (headstrong, stubborn and a desire for the last word) I try and remember what would have helped me at that age and do that.  I’m not always successful but getting advice from other parents who have survived the teen years, tag-teaming with my husband in dealing with issues and the book “The Five Love Languages of Teenagers” by Gary Chapman have been the biggest supports in dealing with my mini-me!
