While medical personnel and first responders are on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic, delivery drivers are providing a lifeline too.

Food delivery drivers have always been peddlers of convenience, but in coronavirus-land, their status has elevated with each ratchet of restrictions.

No longer speed dial afterthoughts, they are cavalrymen with thermal bags — lifelines for restaurants, facilitators of social distancing, and unlikely liberators from tedium in an unprecedented lockdown on life.
