Hundreds of community members came together for Hanley Foundation’s 3rd Annual Bartle BBQ Hang on Saturday, September 13, held at the National Croquet Center in West Palm Beach. The family-friendly event honored Cory Bartle, an avid skateboarder and culinary artist, who tragically died from an accidental fentanyl overdose in 2022 at the age of 34.

Guests enjoyed a barbecue feast catered and underwritten by SandyJames Fine Food & Productions, live music from School of Rock Boca Raton and Surfer Blood, a bounce house provided by Jupiter Bounce, a skateboarding clinic, croquet lessons, and other activities. Special guests Alex Sorgente, a world skateboarding champion, and professional skateboarder, Mike Rogers, led a “best tricks at your level” skateboarding competition where participants won various prizes.

Proceeds from the Bartle BBQ Hang raised money for Hanley Foundation’s Cory Bartle Memorial Fund, which provides lifesaving scholarships for individuals with substance use disorders who would not otherwise be able to afford treatment.

Event sponsors included Cleveland Clinic, LEEDS Custom Design, The Charles P. Steuber National Croquet Center, Grimes Events & Party Tents, Venue Marketing Group, Atlas Event Rental Co., Anne Messer, Hotel Home Stays, School of Rock Boca Raton, Friends of Manatee Lagoon, Regency Party Rental & Productions, Drive Shack, PureHoney Magazine, and The Palm Beach Post/Localiq.
