Finding the right support group can make all the difference in your journey toward healing. Tailored to meet specific experiences and needs, these groups offer invaluable understanding and guidance. In this blog post, the Hanley Foundation introduces Project Cope, providing vital support for families dealing with opioid addiction; Project Hope, offering solace to those who have lost loved ones to suicide; and our Grief Group, providing a compassionate space for individuals grieving the loss of loved ones to substance use. We also have a free Family Group led by clinicians that is open to anyone who has a loved one with substance use disorders.

Hanley Foundation’s Project Hope, Project COPE, Grief Group, and Family Group deliver compassionate, specialized support for those affected by active addiction, suicide loss, and substance loss.

The Importance of Support Groups

These groups offer a secure space to share experiences, gain insights, and receive guidance from others with similar experiences. Engaging in these groups fosters resilience, strengthens personal resolve, and promotes healing. Connecting with peers who have navigated similar challenges also builds a robust support network, which is essential for overcoming obstacles on the path to healing.

Value of Support Groups

If you’re seeking support while dealing with a loved one in active opioid addiction, coping with the loss of a loved one to substance use, or navigating the aftermath of suicide in your family, consider the benefits of a support group. These groups provide a supportive environment where you can share experiences, gain valuable perspectives, and receive guidance from others who understand your journey.

Hanley Foundation’s Project COPE

The dangers associated with opioid usage affect not just the user but also those close to them. The goal of Project COPE is to bring together families who have experienced a loved one abusing opioids. Our support group provides a kind environment for consolation, comprehension, and helpful advice. We recognize the unique difficulties that families encounter. Through mutual support, expert-led dialogues, and shared experiences, we provide families with needed information about opioid addiction, helpful communication techniques, and necessary self-care routines. Interact with people who have been through similar experiences, learn insightful things, and build resilience in the face of the challenges presented by opioid addiction. The first and third Thursdays of the month are reserved for free meetings that require advance reservations. Register or learn more about Project COPE.
