Hanley welcomes Dr. Heather Howard, Dr. Angelo Asheh, and Dr. Phoenix Adams to their team to further innovate and expand the Foundation’s mental health and treatment programs.

West Palm Beach, Fla. (October 24, 2024) ─ Hanley Foundation has welcomed three renowned doctors to chief officer positions: Dr. Heather Howard as Chief Strategy Officer (CSO), Dr. Angelo Asheh as Chief Medical Officer (CMO), and Dr. Phoenix Adams as Chief Clinical Officer (CCO). Howard, Asheh, and Adams bring a wealth of knowledge in the mental and behavioral health field, and will play an essential role in expanding Hanley Foundation’s innovative treatment options for patients.

Dr. Heather Howard, Ph.D., MSW, LICSW, is a nationally recognized expert in perinatal mental health and maternal substance use, who brings more than two decades of clinical experience to Hanley Foundation. She is dedicated to reducing stigma surrounding perinatal women affected by trauma and substance use disorders. With her appointment as CSO, Dr. Howard will focus on creating strong national academic health science partnerships (AHSPs) between Hanley Foundation, Florida State University, and Florida Atlantic University, among others, and will expand the behavioral health continuum of care available at Hanley.

Dr. Angelo Asheh, MD, MPH, is a double board-certified physician with expertise in substance use disorders, mental health, and preventive medicine. He completed his medical training at some of the world’s top institutions, including Yale University, the University of California San Diego, and Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. Dr. Asheh has held the position of lead clinician at several prestigious treatment centers, employing a holistic “whole person” individualized approach that prioritizes the physical, emotional, spiritual, and social well-being of his patients. As CMO, he will focus on integrating innovative treatment modalities, including lifestyle optimization, mindfulness, transcranial magnetic stimulation, and other novel interventional treatments.

Dr. Phoenix Adams, DSW, MBA, LCSW, GC-C, is a licensed psychotherapist and grief counselor with more than 15 years of clinical experience in the field of mental health and substance use treatment. He recently held the position of executive vice president at a world-renowned substance use and mental health treatment facility. Throughout his career, Dr. Adams has gained extensive knowledge of the latest treatment approaches for substance use disorders and related behavioral health issues. As CCO, he will oversee all clinical programming at Hanley Foundation and Headwaters, strategically guiding programs and ensuring the organization continues to deliver the highest quality care to patients.
