Hanley Foundation and the Mark Garwood Foundation are excited to announce the return of the 9th Annual Shoot for the Moon Sporting Clays Charity Event presented by Audi, Infiniti, Maserati, and Alfa Romeo of Stuart, on Friday, November 7, at the South Florida Shooting Club in Palm City, Fla.
The sporting clays event will begin at 7:30 a.m. with registration, breakfast, and a raffle. Shooting representatives will conduct a short safety briefing and orientation before individuals and teams start the competition. Following the clay shoot, participants will enjoy lunch cooked by the Martin County Sheriff’s BBQ Grill Team, along with a live auction, an awards ceremony for individual and team participants, and the presentation of the 2026 Mark Garwood Phoenix Scholarships recipients.
This year’s event celebrates the official partnership between the Hanley Foundation and the Mark Garwood Foundation, uniting to expand the reach and impact of the Mark Garwood Phoenix Scholarships program. Proceeds from Shoot for the Moon will directly support this initiative, which provides education funding for individuals in recovery in South Florida who are committed to long-term sobriety and have financial need.
The Mark Garwood Foundation was established in 2014 by Erica and John Garwood to honor the memory of their son, Mark, who passed away from substance use disorder. Through the Mark Garwood Phoenix Scholarships program, the Foundation provides hope and opportunity for South Florida adults in recovery who are ready to begin or continue their education. Scholarships cover tuition, books, supplies, and fees not funded by other grants, helping recipients build brighter futures. Since 2015, the Foundation has provided more than $590,000 in scholarships to 76 adults in South Florida.
Sponsorships are still available. Tickets for Shoot for the Moon are $350 per person and $1,250 per four-person team, which includes ammunition, clays, trappers, scorers, golf carts, and meals. Individuals and team members are responsible for providing their own shotguns.
