Team sports are great for kids, besides the exercise, it teaches them about teamwork, about leadership and goal setting.

I love baseball especially.

The coach gets to make the decisions at the games, the umps are gonna make bad calls every once in a while and kids can always find something to get upset about.

I have 2 mom tips for parenting kids in sports.

1. Ask first, after the game ask your child what they thought, get them to open up and start the dialogue.

2.  Focus on the positive. What went well? What did they accomplish?  Even if it was trying something new or cheering on their friends. This will help refocus them and you on the fun of sports!
