I love you.

Some parents find it difficult to verbally express the love they feel for their children.  It’s easier to show their love with actions- and while nonverbal communication is great-it’s not enough.

Your children need to hear the words “I love you” every day!!  This reassurance is building the character of you kids.  It reinforces for them that your love for them rises above misbehavior, misunderstandings, and miscommunications.

You can come up with creative ways to say it.  You could sneak up behind them and cover their eyes and say “guess who” and when they say your name and “Yes, and I love you!”  Another way is to say it very profoundly… “ I want to sit down and tell you something very important (pause) I really, really love you!”
