Raising children is hard. Parenting Wisely can help. Two highly interactive courses designed by family and social scientists to help parents with tips and tools to parent your children in difficult situations. Learn constructive skills proven to solve problem behaviors, family conflict, and more. These programs are especially helpful for single parents.  Programs are on-line and free.  They can be completed by participants at their own pace and can be stopped and started as participants’ wishes.  

The Young Child Edition is for parents with children ages 3-11. Your children will benefit from your learning redirection and active listening skills. Parents and children benefit from setting appropriate limits and following through on consequences.  Whether a single parent, married or sharing the raising of your children with a significant other, this program will help you and your child to foster good communication and social skills. 

The Teen Edition is for Parents with children ages 12 and up. Parents and teens benefit from practicing communication skills and social skills. The program also helps children to perform better in school and improve their social skills.  Parents learn how to deal with issues of substance abuse, peer pressure, and the skills needed to become a parent of successful teenagers.

Watch common parenting scenarios and then see different responses of how to handle them.

Review Questions

After each video scenario, you review the responses and understand why different situations happen and how to deal with them in real-time.

Interactive Quizzes

At the end of each chapter, you’ll have the opportunity to test your understanding by taking a quiz. Quizzes help prepare you to handle these situations in the future.

Find support from other parents and trained professionals in the PWO Forum. See what works for others in your situation or get help from a therapist.

Skills Practice

After you’ve finished the course, you can spend time in the Skills Practice section this is an excellent way to practice what you have learned.
