Internet Service

Comcast is offering free internet access for families that qualify. 

New Internet Essentials customers get two free months of Internet service if you apply and are approved by December 31, 2020.

Xfinity WiFi hotspots across the country will be available to anyone who needs them for free – including non-Xfinity Internet subscribers. Once at a hotspot, consumers should select the “xfinitywifi” network name in the list of available hotspots, and then launch a browser.

Mental Health

Florida Blue and New Directions Behavioral Health 

Hotline to help Floridians deal with anxiety during the COVID-19 crisis. Trained behavioral health counselors will answer the phone 24-hours a day and assist in both English and Spanish. Call 833-848-1762.

Utilities

JEA is suspending service disconnections for customers unable to pay their bills during the COVID-19. You should not have your power or water cut off for failure to pay. 

2-1-1 is a FREE service provided by United Way that connects area residents to health and social service resources. From help with a household bill, food assistance, or counseling for suicide prevention, United Way 2-1-1 helpline is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Domestic Violence

Hubbard House operates a 24/7 emergency shelter, hotline and text line and outreach services. The hotline is 904-354-3114, and text line is 904-210-3698. Those numbers are answered around-the-clock by trained advocates provide crisis management and safety planning for survivors of domestic violence and other services. Reemployment Assistance benefits are available to Floridians who have been negatively impacted as a result of COVID-19. Eligible individuals include those who have lost their job, are quarantined by a medical professional or a government agency, laid off or sent home without pay for an extended period by their employer, or caring for an immediate family member diagnosed with COVID-19.

Individuals may apply online or download the Florida Reemployment Assistance paper application available in English, Spanish and Haitian-Creole.

Those experiencing financial hardship.   should reach out to your landlord to discuss potential solutions.  Disaster Response Networks offer support from HUD-approved housing counselors, such as a personalized recovery assessment and action plan, financial coaching and budgeting. Contact your property manager to see if you are eligible.
